Four Men Went to Beer

A dear friend of mine recently returned from his first trip to Belgium. He had kept a beer diary with the sort of precision I truly admire, andhad clearly fallen prey to the charms of that curious, wonderful little country. Having fallen in love with Belgium myself in

the summer of 2007 (Napoleon’s, off-Cathedral Square, Antwerpen – Good times were had that year) I was over-joyed he had finally moved away from his, frankly terrifying, penchant for Bulmer’s and Ice.

After we got talking, we decided we should head out for a summer-evening reminisce of our very own. We recruited a couple of hardened beer tasters one of

whom was a Merchant Navy seaman on shore leave (I like to keep these things serious at all times, as well as Historically accurate). The four of us descended upon the Brauhaus in Edinburgh’s Tollcross area, which was celebrating its 1st birthday, for some old-school Belgian beer times.
